Eros in Veracruz
Valencia College Theater presents "Eros in Veracruz." the first staging of playwright Jack McGrath’s original play as the winning play of Valencia's 2012-13 Florida Playright Competition. The play takes place amid the drug cartels in Veracruz, Mexico, as a young American man with connections to the region first rescues and then falls in love with a beautiful Mexican woman. Their romance is complicated by family interference, kidnapping, drugs, corruption, and outside forces that they struggle to overcome. The culture created by the cartels seems to touch every aspect of life in Mexico, and escaping it sometimes seems impossible.
